Because electromagnetic door closers are linked to a building’s fire alarm system, these will automatically close a door when the alarm is triggered, keeping people and property safe. There are two operation modes of electromagnetic door closers available. Hold-open models are ideal for high traffic areas or spaces where reduced touchpoints are a benefit, holding doors open so people can easily move about a site. Alternatively, there’s free-swing solutions, which operate as though no door closer is fitted. These are perfect for environments such as care homes, where minimal force might be needed to open or close a door. High end electromagnetic closers can switch between both modes.

    DRIFT RESISTANCE: Exidor's Guardian closer offers a low-level control on the door, which stops it from drifting from its open position – eradicating the need to wedge doors open, yet still allowing the door to operate freely to the user.   • CE4F-E electromagnetic closer

    The CE4F-E is a flexible electromagnetic door closer offering both hold open and free-swing functionality in one stylish unit. Easy door opening is guaranteed with electromagnetic door closers. They are ideal for high traffic applications or where doors are frequently used by children, the elderly or the less able. To comply with BS EN 1155 standards, the CE4F-E closers are connected to the building’s fire or smoke alarm system. When activated, this allows the closer to re-engage and shut the door to prevent fire and smoke from spreading.
