Jigtech, our revolutionary door handle and latch fitting system, reduces fitting time, improves efficiency and accuracy by changing the way you install door furniture and latches
The Jigtech system has created a new standard in door hardware installation, reducing fitting time from over 25 minutes to under 5 – a time-saving of 80% that benefits both contractors and fitters alike, saving them time and money.
Here are some commonly asked questions about the range, along with their answers.

No - the Jigtech system, only works with our specially designed handles within the Jigtech range. This is because they are supplied with a unique spacer, which aids in the fast and accurate fitting of the handles.
Jigtech PRO can only be used to fit the unique handles that work with the Jigtech system. But don't worry, there is a wide range of handle styles and finishes within the range, to suit all of your needs.
A SmartPrivacy latch is fitted the same way you would a SmartLatch or SmartBolt but with additional steps. These steps include an additional 5mm hole for the privacy pin and ensuring the handing is correct with the threaded button being on the internal side of the door.
To avoid any damage to the latchbolt it is important to ensure the latchbolt is not hammered into position. We recommend using our Jigtech latch tapper to gently tap into position.
Firstly remove the handles from the door. Then place a large Allen key or screwdriver into one of the rear holes of the Jigtech spacer and firmly push towards the edge of the door. The end of the latch should then pop out far enough to be pulled free of the door.
No. Jigtech SmartLatches and SmartBolts are tested in accordance with EN1634-1 for timber doors up to 60 minutes. Within the range, any product with ‘-F’ in the name is fire-rated. To ensure the fire rating of our latches, they must always be used in conjunction with our graphite intumescent kits.
Please see our fitting instructions below for more detailed information.
Due to the unique design, we recommend only using Jigtech latches with the Jigtech system.
Absolutely. SmartLatch is one of the Jigtech latches, specially adapted to work with the Jigtech system.
It is possible to convert a handle set from passage to privacy by following the fitting instructions and using one of our privacy latch packs – e.g. the DFU5028 Jigtech Satin Chrome Privacy Pack.
SmartLatches are SmartBolts are not handed, therefore, can be used for both handings. SmartPrivacy latches are handed so will require handing to be checked prior to install. To reverse the latch please hold the latchbolt and gently pull away from the body. This will allow you to clear the faceplate and rotate the latchbolt to the position required. Please ensure the bolt has sprung back into place before install.
Yes, switching the roses on either side of the door is no problem with a little modification. Simply undo the grub screw on the underside of the rose with an Allen key, remove the rose, switch sides and re-tighten the grub screw in the same position.
Please see our fitting instructions for more detailed information.
Door furniture of all finishes should be regularly cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. Under no circumstances should metal polish, solvent-based products, chemicals or abrasives be used.
