Terms & Conditions of the Jigtech Challenge
1. Promoter: ASSA ABLOY Limited, Portobello, School Street, Willenhall, WV13 3PW.
2. By taking part in this promotion, an entrant is agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. If an entrant does not agree with any part of these terms and conditions, they should not enter this promotion.
3. The competition starts on 22nd April 2025 and ends on 18th July 2025 (the “promotion period”). All entries must be completed before 16:59 pm on the 18th July 2025 BST (”promotion closing date”) and is open to Howdens’ trade customers resident in Great Britain (England, Wales & Scotland) who must be over the age of 18 to participate.
4. The promotion shall be conducted solely within Howdens’ branches in Great Britain as publicised in the promotional materials (“Event Location”). This schedule may be subject to change. No guarantee of the event schedule is provided at any specific location.
5. This promotion is part of a Jigtech fast fitting handle promotion by the Promoter in conjunction with Howdens. The campaign is intended to raise awareness of the Jigtech product characteristics.
6. The entrants must adhere at all times to the Promoters’ instructions which will be available to all entrants at the Event Location and online at Jigtech Roadshow 2025 Instructions | UNION.
7. Entrants must wear the PPE provided by the Promoter at all times.
8. Entrants may only utilise the demonstration equipment provided by the Promoter.
9. Entrants will be permitted to enter a maximum of one attempt at each Event Location.
10. In order to be considered a valid entry, entrants must:
10.1 Undertake to complete the installation of a Jigtech handle system
at the Event Location using the Jigtech installation demonstration equipment supplied by the Promoter.
10.2 Start and stop their own timer.
10.3 Start from a standing position with the tools lined up by the Promoter on the floor.
10.4 Use the same tools, provided by the Promoter.
10.5 Follow the correct installation procedure which will be demonstrated by the Promoter at the Event Location.
10.6 Fit all components correctly and be working as designed, or the attempt will not be counted.
10.7 Entrants must not be intoxicated during the challenge and must behave in a sensible manner at all times.
10.8 Permit the recording of the time of the complete installation.
11. All decisions on times recorded will be under the supervision, and sole decision of the Promoter umpire.
12. The entry submission must be during the promotion period to be eligible to win.
13. The promotion is not open to employees of the Promoter and anyone else connected with this promotion. If an entrant who is an employee or is otherwise connected with this promotion is a winner they will need to inform the Promoter of this fact at the point that they claim their prize (defined below).
14. Howdens are independent participant to the promotion and are not affiliated in any way to the Promoter.
15. The Promoter shall maintain in force at least the following insurance policies with reputable insurance companies to cover its relevant potential liabilities in connection with this promotion:
15.1 a public liability insurance policy with a limit of at least £10 million per claim;
15.2 an employer's liability insurance policy with a limit of at least £25 million for claims arising from a single event or series of related events in a single calendar year; and
15.3 a product liability insurance policy with a limit of at least £10 million for claims arising from a single event or series of related events in a single calendar year.
16. The Promoter does not seek to exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by participation in the promotion.
17. Howdens shall indemnify the Promoter in respect of all other claims made or proceedings taken against the Promoter (and associated legal costs incurred by the Promoter) by any person, firm or company, including employees of Howdens, or of the Promoter, whether in respect of death, personal injury or damage to property arising directly or indirectly from the attendance at the Event Location, and shall be limited to the value of the prize stated in 19.3.
18. If the entrant opts to not record their result on the day of the competition in the branch prior to the end of the business day, then the submission will not be included in the promotion and will not be eligible to win. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries received after the relevant closing date.
19. The Prizes will be:
19.1 Every entrant will receive promotional pen or T-Shirt, subject to availability on the day at the Event Location.
19.2 Individual daily prize for the fastest fit time at each Event Location is a Jigtech Quick Fit Handle Jig Pack TLS0607, Contents: Jigtech jig, 25mm holesaw and arbor, 44mm holesaw and arbor, 32mm spade bit and allen key
19.3 Fastest overall time recorded between the competition start date and end date at all Event Locations is £1000.00 of power tools to be selected from the Howden’s range available.
19.4 In the unlikely event that there are multiple winners the total prize will be divided equally between those registering the fastest overall time.
20. Prizes are not transferrable.
21. The winners will be contacted by the Promoter directly via email, within 2 weeks of the final competition date.
22. A winner must communicate with the Promoter via telephone or email within 72 hours of being informed that they have won a prize and provide sufficient details to enable the Promoter to arrange to deliver the prize to them. In the event that a winner does not, within 72 hours of being informed that they are a winner, provide sufficient details to enable the Promoter to arrange the delivery of the prize, the Promoter reserves the right to award the prize to the next winner out of all other proper and valid entries that were received for promotion. Failure to claim the prize by the time or in the manner specified will make any claim to the prize invalid.
23. A suitable time, date and delivery method for the prize will be agreed with the winners. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize(s) with a prize of equivalent value. Accepting the prize may give rise to a tax liability which will be each winner’s responsibility.
24. When entering the promotion, the winner may consent to have their details included in future publicity material if required. ASSA ABLOY Limited will collect entrants’ personal data for the duration of the competition. Please see our Privacy Policy and Marketing Privacy Policy for more details.
25. The Promoter reserves the right to alter, amend or foreclose this promotion without prior notice in the event that unforeseen circumstances make this unavoidable. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant and/or select an alternative winner in the event the promoter believes that any entrant has contravened any of these terms and conditions.
26. The Promoter accepts all liability for any loss, cost, liability or claim of any other nature arising out of or in connection with this promotion.
27. Howden Joinery Limited and its group companies accept no liability arising out of or in connection with this promotion. The Promoter and each entrant in entering the promotion acknowledge that Howden Joinery Limited and its group companies accept no liability arising out of or in connection with this promotion. 28. The Promoter’s liability for any damage, loss, or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering the promotion or as a result of accepting a prize shall be limited to the value of the prize stated in 19.3.
29. The Promoter’s decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
30. English law applies, and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts shall prevail.
